Let it shine

Who doesn’t love a little sparkle, shimmer and shine. The Let it shine class for Altenew academy is dazzling. It was such a fun class. In the beautiful pink card above I used the Altenew wild hibiscus stamp set and enchanted washes paper. I used ribbon and jewels from my craft stash.

what a fun card!

In this bright fun card I used gold glitter washi tape. I water colored images from the wild Hibiscus stamp set. for the final touch I added a few gold sequins.

.

In my hugs card you can see the sparkle reflected on the table. I used parchment paper and it had a learning curve for me my heat gun is old so what works best is to warm up my heat gun for about a minute. I used the paper from Live your dream collection. The Hugs is from Altenew script word die set two. The flower is the wild hibiscus stamp set. I hope you enjoyed my cards this time. Until next time happy stamping!

  1. Teri, think less is more. Let’s start with your first card. If you remove the ribbon and the gems that you have added diagonally, this would look complete.
Your second card is great, though I would suggest instead of adding gems all on one side, add two on one and one on the other side. The flowers are coloured beautifully and look great. The pattern paper is a little bold and clashes with the flowers. If you were to use the flowers and the text panel on plain white cardstock, I think that would totally change the look!
For the third card, choose one bold design in pattern paper. Here you have chosen two and the eyes keep switching between the two papers. I think this would have looked balanced without the red and white pattern paper or both the papers since your embossed flower looks beautiful. The sentiment could have been a little to the right.
I need you to take note of my suggestions and apply these to your next projects.
Thanks so much for entering your beautiful work in the AECP assignment Gallery.

  2. Hello Teri, I also agree with Erum’s detailed analysis of your 3 cards. I find the three cards have a common theme–they have so much goodness in one card and it is hard to know what the focal point is! For example, I love how you stamped your first card, but there are so many elements (gem stones, stripes, ribbons and ….. more gemstones). I encourage you to find concise elements and focus on that. I am so glad that you enter your beautiful work in Altenew AECP assignment Gallery. I look forward to seeing more of your lovely work! Well done!
