Beyond Basic Backgrounds

June 8, 2019

I really enjoyed taking the Beyond Basic Background class. It was packed full with lots of great Ideas. I chose to make my own background and to make a in-laid die out of all the class ideas.

So after I made my background, it was time to make a fun card. I used a round die to cut out the center of the card.

I cut out several. Look how nice they all fit together like a puzzle that can be mixed and matched.

I then used the large stamp from the Garden Treasure stamp set. I embossed it in white to match my background.

Next I needed a graduation card so I used my congrats die cut from Altenew’s script. I tried putting it directly on the card . For me it was a bit busy so I cut out a backing and tried it and that was the look I wanted. Thanks for stopping by. Till next time happy stamping!

  1. Hello Teri! Wonderful creation with your first course in Level 2! I love the simplicity of your design. To achieve a even more polished look, I would love to see a more even ink-blended for the background and perhaps use a smaller focal image (with a smaller die), so your beautiful background shows more? Just a thought. Your process video is lovely! Well done! Thanks so much for entering your beautiful work in Altenew AECP assignment Gallery.

  2. Teri, the ink blending needs a bit of work and so does the card layout. Maybe you can try working on this course again in your spare time. I am happy to help you privately if you need constructive criticism. You can email me at erum@altenew.com whenever you have something ready for me. Thank you for the video!
